This Saturday, 30 March, we'll be making up stuff at Improv Theatre Sydney, in Redfern. Tickets here.
Some of the cast got together last week, ate chips and pizza and then (as improvisers do) moved all the furniture in my lounge room to the walls, and made up a show.
It was fun to play again with some of the cast from our 2017 run: Stu Dowling, Alistair Magee and myself (Cindy Tonkin). And to add a few "newby" experienced improvisers to the soup: Sophie Long, Jason Dunn.
The beauty of improvisation like Dinner Party is that you can endow others with your own hobbies and foibles (Sophie endowed herself with Alistair's minimalist lifestyle; Jason became a crypto-investor, like some of his friends and acquaintances in his Master's program).
The whole thing began with a discussion about old technology and took a few twists and turns through emotional blackmail, mis-followed advice and overall love and happiness.
This weekend will be just as much fun, but with a live audience! Get your tickets now.
